ZENITH UNVEILS THE NEW DEFY SKYLINE IBIZA EDITION IN WHITE CERAMIC, A LIMITED-EDITION SOLD EXCLUSIVELY IN RABAT BOUTIQUES
Ibiza, June 26, 2024: Pristine beaches, clear blue skies, and crystalline azure waters. There’s something about Ibiza that evokes the laidback spirit of a Mediterranean summer. ZENITH pays tribute to this iconic Spanish island with a DEFY Skyline in white ceramic, paired with a sea blue dial for the perfect match. This limited edition will be sold exclusively at Rabat boutiques, and with specially marked case backs.
A modern successor to the very first ZENITH DEFY wristwatch model from 1969, the DEFY Skyline seamlessly merges the past and present with bold architectural lines and unwavering robustness that have become hallmarks of the line. With the Ibiza Edition, the DEFY Skyline is crafted in white ceramic, a perfect contrast to the core collection’s black ceramic variant. With alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces, the highly scratch-resistant white ceramic case and dodecagonal bezel offer a striking rendition of the all-occasions DEFY silhouette. With a water-resistance of 10 ATM (100 metres), there isn’t an activity that the DEFY Skyline Ibiza Edition can’t handle.
Perfectly complementing the DEFY Skyline Ibiza Edition’s white ceramic exterior is its refreshingly cool sea blue dial. Constantly shifting with the light and revealing different nuances of blue, the dial features an engraved pattern consisting of four-pointed stars, glistening against the sunray-patterned metallic dial base. In keeping with the visual harmony of the dial, the date wheel has been made to chromatically match the rest of the dial. In lieu of a traditional second’s small dial, the DEFY Skyline features the world’s first and only constant 1/10th of a second running indicator, completing one rotation every 10 seconds.
Conceived with versatility in mind, the DEFY Skyline Ibiza Edition comes on an integrated white ceramic bracelet, which seamlessly follows the contours and mixed brushed and polished finish of the case. A white patterned rubber strap is also provided to make the most of the case’s ingenious quick strap-change mechanism, which requires no tools to operate.
The DEFY Skyline Ibiza Edition is powered by the El Primero 3620 automatic high-frequency calibre, featuring a 1/10th of a second indicator that’s driven directly from the 5Hz escapement. It features a power reserve of approximately 60 hours and is endowed with a stop-second mechanism for precise time-setting.
